Trevor shows us how to make a quick and easy Breakfast Burrito.
Welcome back to Cooking Without Whine, our series of teaching videos, helping you prepare fresh and healthy meals at home. If you don't already know– our institutional sized kitchen on the MHAB Life Skills Campus is a space for life skills education, experimental cooking, and of course, a lot of fun. In the MHAB Kitchen, we prepare fresh baked goods, soups, sandwiches, and salads daily. Community dinners and private luncheons are regularly prepared here as well. Our head chef, Trevor, leads the way in providing fresh meals to the community and making sure our MHAB Fresh shop is always stocked with delicious, healthy eats.
Down below is episode number ten of Cooking Without Whine, where you can learn from Trevor how to prepare a delicious breakfast burrito– all from inside our very own kitchen on MHAB Life Skills Campus. Watch the video to see how Trevor does it, and follow the recipe underneath to make your own at home!
Here's what you'll need:
Tortilla
Butter
Cilantro
Parsley
Shredded Cheese
Eggs (2)
Salsa or Pico de Gallo
Chorizo (Optional – choose no meat, or any type of meat or meat substitute)
Let's get started:
Heat up a skillet & add butter to melt.
Mince cilantro and parsley (enough to sprinkle lightly).
Whip two eggs and add to the skillet once butter is hot and melted.
Lay tortilla flat and coat one half with shredded cheese.
Sprinkle the herbs on top of cheese.
Add a layer of chorizo (or your substitute).
Once eggs are cooked through, add on top of cheese & herbs.
Finish with a spoonful of salsa on top.
Fold and wrap the burrito.
*Tip* You eat right away, or save for later and further cook your burrito on a skillet or in the oven.
That'll do, pig!
